We are the architects of our future

The Somatic Metaphysics of Easter/Ostara

Easter is falling in the Northeast this year when the hyacinths, magnolias, and cherry trees are bursting in full glory. The air is crisp and the sun is warm.

Resurrection is in the air, too. This is not hope speaking. It is faith, deep, embodied faith.

I will describe it for you because maybe you also feel it, or something different? It would be good to talk about it and expand our awareness.

It feels kind of like a very soft, bioluminescent, bioplasmic jelly living inside and alongside me. It provides both stability and fluid mobility in this life and body. It roots me into my cosmic origin and identity. I also become a host to all manner of sentient life, microbial, bacterial, and fungal life. My body is an archive of humanity, earth, and stars. I am multitudes. The fear in my tissues melts in a flash, and I feel safe and warm. My body knows the storm has passed. I am safe and free.

It's like all the cultural and personal trauma patterns one may carry can't touch this force. You realize you are so much more than this body in this life. You are soul essence, unblemished. You are part of something eternal, a story so much bigger than your puny self can fathom.

That is when the surrender happens and deep, embodied faith becomes something we carry inside us.

Then in the next moment, something happens, and you're back in the fear body. Or you get distracted, the feeling vanishes, and we forget about it.

We never realize this is more than a fleeting state. We miss the chance to turn a pleasant state into a structure of consciousness that can redirect us to our resurrection.

We lose stability and collapse, or we lose mobility, get overwhelmed, and can no longer adapt. Dreams get sidelined. Eros, our vitality for living, dries up.

We've got more than issues in our tissues. We've got the gift of life. We can resurrect it and put it to good use for as long as we can.

Feeling like you can face the challenges and be OK, that you are safe, is the kind of stability needed now. Mobility is essentially youthfulness. Who doesn't want to sharpen their senses and have more bounce in their step?

But the real gift, the one that brings us back to life, is the ability to consciously connect with what animates us, the tissue of our soul and spirit, and to live their truth.

Time only flows forward, and while our time here is finite, our souls, spirits, and bioplasmic bodies are part of an infinite story.

So, as Buckminster Fuller says, “We are called to be the architects of our future, not its victims.”

Let's cultivate the qualities needed at this time. We are part of a larger story unfolding. Let's do it from coherence, and when coherence cannot be found, let's help each other grow it.

I do believe that this is the root of somatic fascial healing work.

No matter how much energy work or sounding we do (and I do a lot of it), there is still the earth of our body. At some point, you have to get your 'hands' dirty, leave your brain at home, and be willing to explore the inner realms of your corporeal existence with all your senses. Ask to be shown a level of living from loving connection and surrender to a universe that is self-organizing and self-correcting.
